The Department of Botany, GCWUF organized an event entitled ???Spring plantation and plant exhibition??? on 16th March 2023. Chief guest Prof Dr. Robina Farooq (T.I) Vice Chancellor GCWUF inaugurated the event. In this context a ???Go Green Go Clean??? walk was arranged under the flag of green youth movement (GYM) club GCWUF. The walk was started with great enthusiasm and positivity in the premises of GCWUF with the kind permission of the Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Robina Farooq. Mr. Asif A. Malik, Registrar, GCWUF, Dr. Ali Madeeh Hashmi (grandson of Faiz Ahmad Faiz), Psychiatrist King Edward Medical University Lahore, Prof. Dr. Zill-i-Huma Nazli, Coordinator Faculty of Science and Technology, Prof. Dr. Saima Akram Acting Chairperson Department of Mathematics, Dr. Abida Kausar Acting Chairperson and Convener of the event, Ms. Asma Aziz Director Student Affairs and Dr. Syeda Samina Tahira Incharge Department of Education, faculty members and students actively participated in the walk. There were up to thirteen (13) different plant arrangements comprising of themes like seasonal plants, mini baskets, indoor plantation, medicinal plants, ornamental plants, foliage and dry plants. Worthy Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Robina Farooq and all the guests visited every stall for evaluation and encouraged the efforts of the students. Certificates were distributed among the position holders. Spring planting is a time of renewal and growth, so feeling its importance, an in-campus plantation activity was also executed. Prof. Dr. Robina Farooq, Vice Chancellor GCWUF initiated the activity by planting Loquat in front of Science Block of GCWUF. Prof. Dr. Zill-i-Huma Nazli, and Prof. Dr. Saima Akram also planted the Ficus and Terminalia at various points. Prof. Dr. Robina Farooq appreciated the efforts of the Department of Botany and emphasized that students must equip themselves with such skills besides acquiring degrees to earn respectable livelihoods in the future. #gcwuf #gcwufofficial #womenuniversity #botany #gym
